1. Introduction

UPLVL ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our website and growth calculator. We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). UPLVL is the responsible party, located at 345 Rivonia Boulevard, Johannesburg, South Africa.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

• Contact details you provide, such as your name and email address, when you use the calculator, request a report, or book a call.
• Funnel and business metrics you enter into the growth calculator, such as your industry, growth stage, revenue range, acquisition and conversion figures, and the growth challenge you select. These are used to generate your estimate.
• Technical and usage data, such as pages viewed and basic interaction events, collected to help us understand and optimise how the Services are used.

3. Why we collect it and our lawful basis

We process your personal information to:

• generate calculator results and send you the report you request;
• respond to your enquiries and arrange bookings or calls;
• provide, maintain, and optimise the Services;
• send you relevant communications where you have agreed to receive them.

Our lawful basis for processing is your consent, the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering into one, and our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Services, as permitted under POPIA.

4. Third parties we share data with

We use trusted operators to deliver the Services. They process your information on our behalf and only as needed to perform their function:

• Supabase for secure database hosting and storage of submitted data.
• Resend for sending your calculator report and related email communications.
• Calendly for scheduling calls and bookings.
• Plausible Analytics for privacy-friendly visitor statistics. It sets no cookies and does not identify individual visitors.
• Google Analytics 4 for detailed usage analytics. This one sets cookies that can identify a returning browser, so it runs only if you allow it. See section 5.

Some of these providers may process or store data outside South Africa. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives an adequate level of protection, as required by POPIA. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use two categories of cookie, and you choose whether the second one runs. The choice is stored in your browser, not on our servers.

• Essential. Needed for the site to work: security, load balancing, and remembering your cookie choice so we do not ask again on every page. These cannot be switched off, because without them the site does not function.
• Analytics. Google Analytics 4, which sets the _ga cookies to recognise a returning browser and show us how the site is used. These are off by default and load only after you select "Accept all", or tick Analytics under "Learn more and manage". Nothing analytics-related is set before you choose.

We also use Plausible Analytics on every visit. It counts page views without setting a cookie and without storing anything that identifies you, so it does not require your consent. If you would rather it did not run at all, most browsers and content blockers can block it.

Changing your mind. Select Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. That reopens the banner so you can accept or refuse. Refusing also deletes the Google Analytics cookies already in your browser. Withdrawing is as easy as agreeing, and refusing costs you nothing: every part of the site works either way.

6. Data retention

We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes set out in this policy, to comply with our legal obligations, and to resolve disputes. When information is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymise it. You may request earlier deletion at any time, as set out below.

7. How we protect your information

We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your personal information against loss, unauthorised access, and misuse. This includes access controls and encrypted, row-level secured storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to maintain appropriate protection at all times.

8. Your rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you;
• request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
• request deletion of your personal information;
• object to or withdraw consent for certain processing;
• lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
